
About the Artist
Cristina Debernardi is a professional artist with more than 30 years of experience in the field. She currently resides in Kensington, Maryland and commissions landscape paintings as well as portraits. Please browse this blog to discover some of her amazing and varied work.
Cristina’s first work in the U.S. was in Washington, D.C., at the Hispanic Gala Theater in where she joined the stage design crew to complete a Cervantes play. The artist later worked with the stage design crew of the Lyric Opera Theater in Baltimore, Maryland. She had a solo exhibit in Baltimore and another solo show in the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, D.C. Cristina has also exhibited at the Strathmore Mansion in the 20th Annual Strathmore Artists Juried Exhibit. She currently works in private residences in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area creating commissioned murals, trompe l’oeils,and faux paintings—in addition to creating portraits and landscape paintings.
Cristina was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and holds a BFA in painting from the Nation’sFine Arts School and also holds a BFA in theater stage design from the Superior Fine Arts School of the Colon Theater, which is the largest Opera House in Latin America. During the beginning of her career she lived in Barcelona, Spain where was a painting teacher and had several solo shows in local Galleries.
Her passion for gardens, flowers and nature is what brought her to create her latest exhibit. She paints from nature, photos she takes and imagination.
